On August 26th, 2023, we had a special session with 6 members and 5 honorable guests.
We invited an expert in the chemical industry as a presenter. We learned worries and problems of a small entity from her. We understood struggles to protect IP with a few members, to manage a small team, to train inventors, to negotiate with the parent company and so on. And we shared our own views and experiences, and discussed many topics proactively.
Also, she is pondering how to build up an IP team. It’s a general topic for many of us. For example, each member has to draft effectively and efficiently for building up the team. AI won’t solve such problems perfectly in the near future. It would be better to enhance our skills by ourselves.
8月26日に11名(メンバー6名、ゲスト5名)で特別セッションを開催しました。
化学業界で活躍している専門家をプレゼンターとして招き、小さな知財部署における悩みや問題を共有して頂きました。少人数で知財を保護すること、小さな知財部署を運営すること、発明者に対する教育、親会社との交渉など、数多くの苦労を理解できました。また、各参加者が積極的に各自の知見や経験を共有したり、議論を交わしたりしました。
また、プレゼンターはどのようにして知財チームを強化していくのか苦労している旨を共有しました。これは知財業界の多くの人にとって一般的な悩みでしょう。例えば、知財チームを強化するために各自が効果的なドラフトを効率的に作成する必要があります。AIが近い将来にそのような課題を完璧に解決できるとは思えないので、各自スキルを高める必要がありそうです。
