We invited Eric Lin to a special meeting of CHIZAI Toastmasters Club to discuss generative AI and inventorship. One of the key questions was under what circumstances an AI developer could be considered an inventor when filing a patent for an idea derived from the AI’s output. It appears that, in Japan, this topic will be examined in earnest in the next fiscal year. It was a wonderful opportunity to gain insights from various perspectives.
知財トーストマスターズクラブの特別ミーティングにEric Linさんをお招きして、生成AIと発明者資格について議論しました。主要な論点の一つは、AIが生成したアイデアで特許を出願する際に、どのような状況下でAI開発者が発明者として認められるかということでした。日本では、来年度にこのトピックが本格的に検討される見通しです。さまざまな視点から洞察を得ることができ、大変有意義な機会となりました。
