We had a free discussion this morning on how IP can help SDGs. As the word cloud above describes, our discussion ranged from investment to IP. Hard tech industries such as "green" industry may need more time than software industry when it comes to time from invention to market. How IP can help the transition was one of the topics. Here are some of the issues we discussed: Should patent prosecution process be so flexible that innovators in the green industry can allocate limited resources wisely?; Is it realistic to reply on patent valuation to raise money in the green industry?; Is 20 years of patent term optimal for such infrastructure technologies? 今朝、知財によってSDGsをどのように支援できるかについて、自由な議論を行いました。ワードクラウドに描かれているように、議論は投資から知財にまで及びました。「グリーン」産業などのハードテックは、発明から市場までの期間という意味では、ソフトウェア産業よりも時間が必要かもしれません。知財はこの移行期間をどのように支援できるでしょうか。いくつかの論点は次のとおり。グリーン産業のイノベーターが限られた資源を賢く配分できるように特許取得プロセスを柔軟にすべきか。グリーン産業における資金調達に関して特許評価の頼ることは現実的か。20年という特許期間はインフラ技術にとって最適であるか。皆さんの意見も聞かせてください。
