Invigorating Meeting

The CHIZAI Toastmasters Club holds regular meetings twice a month, on the second and fourth Wednesdays. At our meetings, members learn and practice public speaking in English, continuously developing their communication skills through hands-on experience.

In recent years, the CHIZAI Toastmasters Club has grown far beyond simply progressing through the Toastmasters educational program. Our members are no longer focused solely on improving their own public speaking skills. Instead, each member actively considers how they can contribute to making the entire club more vibrant and engaging. This mindset is a true embodiment of the leadership that Toastmasters values.

At the September 9 meeting, "invigorating" was introduced as the Word of the Day. Meaning "giving energy," "refreshing," or "full of vitality," it was a perfect word to describe our club today. Throughout the meeting, many members enthusiastically incorporated the word into their speeches and comments, filling the online room with energy, enthusiasm, and smiles.

近年の知財トーストマスターズクラブは、単にトーストマスターズの教育プログラムを進める段階をはるかに超えています。メンバー一人ひとりが自身のパブリックスピーキングの向上だけでなく、クラブ全体をより活気あるものにするために何ができるかを意識して行動しています。そのような姿勢は、トーストマスターズが大切にする「リーダーシップ」の実践そのものと言えるでしょう。

9月9日の例会では、"invigorating" が「今日の単語」として紹介されました。"invigorating" には「活力を与える」「元気づける」「活気に満ちた」といった意味があります。この言葉は、まさに現在の私たちのクラブを表すのにふさわしい表現でした。例会中には多くのメンバーがこの単語を楽しみながらスピーチやコメントに取り入れ、オンラインミーティングルームは活気と笑顔にあふれていました。
