We casually discussed how an intellectual property (IP) unit can contribute to SDGs or company goals relevant to SDGs since some large Japanese companies are working hard associating their IP work with SDGs. We did not reach any conclusions, but I think we reach a tentative conclusion that we need to have more intensive discussions with EXAMPLES.
Happily, our friend in Seattle joined us for the first time in one or two years. This shows that CHIZAI Toastmasters Club works as a communication platform as well as a training pitch for public speaking. His input was invaluable! 知的財産部門がSDGsや企業が掲げるSDGs関連目標にどのように貢献できるかについてカジュアルに議論しました。きっかけは、いくつかの日本の大企業が、知財業務とSDGsを関連づけることに一生懸命だからです。結論は出ませんでしたが、「具体例」に基づいてもっとしっかり議論していくことが必要ということが暫定的な結論ではないかと思います。
嬉しいことに、シアトルの友人が、1、2年ぶりに参加してくださりました。このことは、知財トーストマスターズが、パブリックスピーチの練習の場というだけではなく、コミュニケーション・プラットフォームとして機能していることを物語っていると思います。彼のインプットは素晴らしく価値あるものでした。実は、私たちのメンバーには金融をバックグラウンドにしている人もいます。知財のみなさま、たまには、大きなことを語ろう！
