Think outside the box

At a special meeting on November 11th, we invited Yasu-san, who has been involved in the intellectual property industry in different capacities as an inventor, analyst, and research manager. IP practitioners typically discuss IP issues with other practitioners. It's comfortable, but sometimes you may need to be exposed to different perspectives and think outside the box. In this respect, this meeting was great. For example, he quoted from Thomas Kuhn's The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, "Perhaps science does not develop by the accumulation of individual discoversies and inventions." IP practitioners often take pride in their role as promoters of innovation, so I think it's important to think from time to time about how inventions revolutionize our lives. Thank you, Yasu-san!
